1.概要(Summary)
Water droplet within emulsion system is important in various aspect for personalized products. Here we have utilzied Raman micrscope to assess the condition of water droplet in the model emulsion system.
2.実験(Experimental)
【利用した主な装置】 RAMANplus
【実験方法】
Few model emulsion system, as well as products in oil phase was assessed while in drying transition on glass slide using the excitation wavelength of 532 nm and 785nm.
3.結果と考察(Results and Discussion)
The water droplet was able to be detected by Raman and it’s interface was visible. However the clarity of the acquired data is highly influenced by the dye contents in oil phase. With cosmetic system with high content of dyes and pigments, the signal was saturated and was difficult to obtain the useful information.
The other aspect was to monitor the situation of drying transition. Depending on water phase including gel type structure, the water is retained longer during drying transition. Raman microscope may be a good method to assess the water behavior after application. This is something of interests to continue in the near future.
4.その他・特記事項(Others)
Li Jie-san at the MMSP has greatly helped in the training of the instrument usage. Few advices on enhancing the images (time required vs. resolution) was useful for the measurements done.
